This is a simple blog designed to keep my family and friends up to date on our progress as we try to modernise our first home.  We hope it helps anyone else who is looking at starting a similar journey and not having a a clue where to start!

What: We’ve started this blog to keep a track of our renovations, tribulations and successes whilst we turn our 1965 semi-detached with “priceless” original features into a beautiful up to date family home, thats “smart” with technology.

Why: Since buying this house having trawled the internet looking for renovation inspiration on a smaller scale and realising it’s pretty hard to find. Sure I can look at hundreds of excellent blogs where a huge old watermill has been turned into a loft style space or gorgeous Victorian Villa has been rescued from the sins of the eighties but there didn’t seem to be anything in between…something for “dummies”, trying this for the first time on a run of the mill house.
